Hearts of Oak can now return to the transfer market after the Ghana Football Association officially lifted their ban on player registrations.
The ban was removed on Thursday, July 17, 2025, after the club fully settled an outstanding payment of over GHS 129,000 owed to former player Francis Adjetey, as mandated by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
The GFA imposed the ban earlier this month after the club missed a July 7 deadline to pay Adjetey GHS 106,477.42 plus interest and legal fees. Following unsuccessful attempts to stagger the payments, Hearts finally cleared the full amount, allowing the automatic lifting of the ban in accordance with GFA rules.
Just two weeks prior, the club had also settled a $38,000 debt owed to New Edubiase United over the Salim Adams transfer, which had previously triggered another ban.
With both cases now closed, the Phobians are free to operate in the transfer window ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
However, a new challenge may be looming, as FIFA has reportedly ordered the club to pay $150,000 to former Technical Director Rene Hiddink.
