Ghanaian rising star Ibrahim Osman has officially joined French Ligue 1 outfit AJ Auxerre on a season-long loan from Brighton & Hove Albion, with an option to make the move permanent for €16 million, the club’s potential record signing.
The 20-year-old attacker, who spent the past season with Dutch side Feyenoord, expressed his excitement in a short video posted on Auxerre’s official X page:
Happy to be here. Can’t wait to get started. See you soon, he said.
Osman, who previously had a stint with Danish club FC Nordsjaelland, impressed during his time in the Eredivisie, featuring in 32 games across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing three assists. He also made seven appearances in the UEFA Champions League.
His move to Auxerre will see him link up with fellow Ghana internationals Gideon Mensah and Elisha Owusu as he begins a new chapter in France’s top tier. If Osman shines at the Stade de l’Abbé-Deschamps, the club will look to trigger the buy clause, making him their most expensive signing ever.
