Black stars and LA Galaxy winger, Joseph Paintsil expresses frustration over limited playing time with the national team.

Speaking to The BAC Sports Channel, the former Tema youth and Gent player expressed his disatisfaction in not getting enough minute to play for the national anytime he is with the team.

“I think I should get a looking in the national team but it’s sometimes uncomfortable to be on the bench.” Joseph Paintsil stated.

He also mentioned that he has been consistent in his performance for a long time and has demonstrated enough quality to earn more playing time.

However, he acknowledged that he doesn’t have the authority to influence player selection decisions. Despite this, he remains committed to proving himself to the people of Ghana and all football fans whenever he’s given the opportunity.

Joseph Paintsil’s exclusion from Ghana’s squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar came as a surprise to many Ghanaians, especially considering his impressive performances in the Belgian league.

His absence raised eyebrows, particularly since he had struggled for playing time in the recent Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire, where Ghana was eliminated in the group stage. Many Concerns were raised as to why the winger was treated that way in the national team knowing he is one of the skillful and dangerous attackers in the squad.

In the interview, he later expressed empathy for Ghanaians, acknowledging the pain that all football fans are feeling following the national team’s disappointing performance, which led to their failure to qualify for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
