Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Justice Blay has broken his silence following his departure from the club, making startling revelations about his time with the Porcupine Warriors.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Pure FM, Blay said he anticipated his exit long before it became official, revealing that he felt sidelined during preparations for their MTN FA Cup clash against Golden Kick FC.

I knew I wasn’t going to be part of Kotoko’s future. I sensed it during our camp before the Golden Kick game. Eventually, I was called in and informed I was no longer in the club’s plans. The reason they gave wasn’t solely about performance, Blay stated.

He further alleged that he overheard a private conversation between management member Nana Apinkra and head coach Kwesi Appiah, where he claimed to have heard, “I like Kwame,” which, in his view, confirmed suspicions of internal bias and favouritism.

Blay also responded to swirling rumours about his lifestyle off the pitch, particularly claims about excessive drinking. “People say I’m the only drunkard in the team, but that’s false,” he said, pointing fingers at teammates Joseph Ablor and Guinea international Camara Mohammed for allegedly smoking Shisha.

In a more shocking twist, Blay accused Camara Mohammed of snatching his girlfriend, an incident that he said escalated to a police case. He also alleged that forward Kwame Poku betrayed him by taking over a woman he referred to as his “sugar mummy.”

The tension got so bad that I ended up assaulting a security officer at the club house. I’m explaining this now because the story has been twisted, he admitted.

Justice Blay’s contract with Asante Kotoko was mutually terminated at the end of the 2024/25 season, despite having a year left on his deal.
