Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach, Karim Zito, has acknowledged the unpredictability of matches between his side and arch-rivals Accra Hearts of Oak ahead of their crucial Super Clash on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The highly-anticipated fixture, which remains Ghana’s biggest domestic football rivalry, often delivers drama and tension until the very last whistle, something Zito is well aware of.

Hearts of Oak vs Kotoko matches are very difficult to predict and until the 90th minute, you don’t know what will happen. Like what happened in the first league match where Kotoko scored a late goal at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Zito remarked.

Despite the unpredictable nature of the clash, the Kotoko coach made it clear that his team will approach the encounter with a winning mentality.

The truth is Kotoko is going in with a mentality of winning, for that one I can’t hide. But the field will decide,” he added.

Asante Kotoko, currently 4th on the Ghana Premier League table with 50 points from 29 games, will be hoping to repeat their narrow first-leg victory over Hearts of Oak, where a stoppage-time goal from Albert Amoah sealed the win.

With Hearts of Oak sitting 6th with 45 points, both clubs will be desperate for a result in what promises to be yet another unforgettable chapter in their storied rivalry.
