Asante Kotoko’s push for the Ghana Premier League title took a hit on Sunday afternoon after the Porcupine Warriors were held to a 0-0 draw by Bibiani Gold Stars.

Coming into the match just two points behind Nations FC, Kotoko knew a win was crucial to keep their title hopes alive.

But despite a spirited performance, the Reds were unable to find a breakthrough against a well-organized Bibiani side that also has title ambitions of their own.

The draw leaves Kotoko in third place with 55 points from 32 matches, now five points behind league leaders Nations FC, who comfortably defeated Samartex 3-0 earlier in the day. Bibiani Gold Stars remain second with 57 points, just three behind the top spot.

Kotoko’s inability to capitalize on their chances means they now face an uphill battle in the final two rounds of the season.

With Nations FC in strong form and Bibiani also in the hunt, Kotoko must win their remaining games and hope for favorable results elsewhere if they are to reclaim the Ghana Premier League crown.
