Medeama head coach, Ibrahim Tanko, has attributed his team’s dominant performance against Bechem United to the additional training time gained during the league’s suspension.
The Tarkwa-based club secured a convincing 3-1 win at the TNA Stadium in their first match since the Ghana Premier League resumed following a temporary halt.
The league had been suspended for several weeks due to the tragic death of Asante Kotoko supporter, Francis Yaw “Pooley” Frimpong, who was fatally stabbed during violent clashes at Kotoko’s away match against Nsoatreman.
Tanko, recently appointed as Medeama’s head coach, emphasized that the extended training period played a crucial role in their tactical execution.
We played a very good match against a well-organized team. In the first half, we could have scored two or three more goals, but overall,it was a well-deserved win for us.
The extra week of training definitely contributed to our strong performance today. He stated
Medeama will now prepare for back-to-back away fixtures against Nations FC and Samartex on March 16 and 18, as they continue their league campaign.
