Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko is determined to secure maximum points when his side takes on Basake Holy Stars in their Ghana Premier League clash.
The Yellow and Mauves will host Basake Holy Stars at the TnA Stadium in Tarkwa on Tuesday for their week 21 fixture, aiming for consecutive victories to boost their league standing.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Tanko emphasized the importance of securing all three points at home.
We are playing at home, and definitely, we want to take all three points to build confidence ahead of our next game in Accra, he stated.
Medeama approaches the match on the back of a morale-boosting 1-0 victory over Aduana Stars on March 23. They also hold a psychological advantage, having edged Basake Holy Stars 2-1 in their previous meeting six months ago.
Meanwhile, Basake Holy Stars enter the fixture struggling for form, having suffered consecutive defeats to Asante Kotoko and Bibiani Gold Stars. Their defensive frailties have been evident, conceding in each of their last 10 away matches, and they remain winless in their last seven games.
Currently, Medeama sits seventh on the league table with 35 points from 23 games, while Basake Holy Stars occupy the 13th position with 27 points. A victory for Medeama will significantly enhance their push for a top-four finish.
