Asante Kotoko’s Communications Director, Sarfo Duku, Esq., has reiterated the club’s decision to temporarily halt its participation in all football related activities in honour of the late Nana Pooley, despite the swift response from the Ghana Police Service in investigating the matter.

Speaking on the issue with 3Sports, the club’s Communications Director, Sarfo Duku, Esq., commended the police for their rapid response but emphasized that Kotoko’s position has not changed.

“To be very honest with you, we are impressed with the swift manner with which the Ghana Police Service has reacted or responded to this matter, and I hope it goes on like that,” he stated.

However, he clarified that while Kotoko is not permanently withdrawing from football, the club is awaiting further developments before making any decisions regarding their return to the Ghana Premier League.

“For now, it’s too early for me to say that we have rescinded our decision of withdrawing from the league. We want to see that the police is actually getting into somewhere, which I hope they will get there. Kotoko is not saying that they’ll not play football again.”

Kotoko remains firm in its position as it closely monitors developments in the ongoing investigations.
