The Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Yaw Ampofo Ankra, has shared his positive experiences since assuming leadership of the Authority, describing his journey so far as exciting and rewarding.
In an exclusive interview with Original FM, Mr. Ampofo Ankra expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the NSA, a position that places him at the heart of Ghana’s sports administration.
One of his core responsibilities includes overseeing the management and maintenance of all national stadiums and sports facilities across the country, ensuring they remain in good condition for local and international events.
It’s an experience, and so far I’m enjoying every single day as the Director General of the National Sports Authority,” he remarked. “It’s not every day that you get the chance to work with different people from different backgrounds. The staff I met here have been very helpful in settling in.
Under his leadership, the NSA continues to prioritize facility upgrades, infrastructure safety, and the effective organization of sporting activities in Ghana. His tenure has already seen increased focus on refurbishing key stadiums and strengthening partnerships with sporting federations.
Mr. Ampofo Ankra praised the commitment of the NSA staff, acknowledging their support in helping him settle into his role and carry out the Authority’s mandate smoothly.
