Bibiani GoldStars have written their name in Ghana Premier League (GPL) history, amassing an impressive 33 points at the end of the first round of the 2024/25 season.
This remarkable achievement marks the second-highest points tally recorded in the first round of the GPL since the league expanded from 16 to 18 clubs in 2019. The only team to surpass this feat is Asante Kotoko, who secured 37 points during the 2021/22 season.
GoldStars’ performance has been nothing short of extraordinary. The team recorded nine wins in the first round, the most by any side this season. Only two other teams, Asante Kotoko and Nations FC, matched this milestone.
Under the guidance of Coach Frimpong Manso, and with strong support from their fans, the league leaders have displayed a balance of defensive resilience and attacking. Their ability to win both home and away matches has been key this season, earning them plaudits as serious contenders for the GPL title.
As they gear up for the second round, Bibiani GoldStars will begin their campaign against Legon Cities at the Legon Sports Stadium, on Sunday, January 26, 2025.
