Semenyo Set for Bournemouth Return Against Spurs After Suspension
Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo is poised to make his return from suspension for AFC Bournemouth as they face Tottenham Hotspur in a Premier League clash on Thursday, December 5, at 20:15 GMT.
Semenyo is back in contention after serving a one-game ban, having missed the Cherries’ 4-2 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend.
The 24-year-old forward was sidelined due to accumulating his fifth yellow card of the season in Bournemouth’s 1-2 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola confirmed Semenyo’s availability ahead of the game, stating, “It’s going to be very similar to the squad that we had [against Wolves]. Obviously, we recover Antoine from the suspension.”
Semenyo has been a key player for Bournemouth this season, contributing four goals in 11 league appearances. His performances have been a bright spot for the team, showcasing his clinical finishing and attacking prowess.
Despite struggling to replicate his form on the international stage with Ghana’s Black Stars, Semenyo’s club performances have been a testament to his quality.
The match against Spurs at the Vitality Stadium offers Bournemouth a chance to build on their momentum from the Wolves victory.
With Semenyo’s return adding firepower to the attack, Iraola will hope his side can continue their resurgence in the league.
