The Black Stars of Ghana held their first training session ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad, with nine players reporting for duty on Day 1.
Notably absent from the session were key players Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus, and captain André Ayew, who are expected to join the squad later.
The players who participated in the opening session included goalkeepers Lawrence Ati Zigi, Joseph Wollacott, and Benjamin Asare, defenders Razak Simpson, Gideon Mensah, Kamardini Mamudu, and Mohammed Salisu, and forwards Antoine Semenyo and Kamaldeen Sulemana.
Partey and Kudus are scheduled to link up with the squad on Tuesday, March 18, at the Accra Sports Stadium, while Ayew’s arrival is yet to be confirmed.
The session was led by head coach Otto Addo, with Technical Advisor Winfried Schäfer actively involved in providing instructions. The team also received a special visit from Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Iddie Adams, who observed the training and interacted with the players and technical team.
With Ghana determined to secure a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Black Stars will continue their intensive preparations, aiming for a strong performance against Chad.
