Asante Kotoko Secure Third Straight League Win with Victory Over Dreams FC

Kumasi Asante Kotoko recorded their third straight league win and fourth in all competitions after roaring to a narrow 2-1 win over Dreams FC in their Matchday 14 encounter in the Ghana Premier League at the Tuba Astro Turf on Sunday.

Baba Yahaya and Dauda Saaka were the heroes for Kotoko, scoring two late first-half goals to give their side a commanding 2-0 lead at the break.

Despite a spirited second-half response from Dreams FC, led by former Hearts of Oak forward Joseph Esso, who halved the deficit just 13 minutes into the half, Kotoko held on for a vital win.

This victory ended a frustrating run for Asante Kotoko against Dreams FC, as it was their first league win over the side in their last five meetings.

Last season, Kotoko suffered back-to-back defeats to Dreams, but Sunday’s result demonstrated their renewed determination under their current form.

The win pushes Asante Kotoko to 5th place on the league table with 24 points, just three points shy of joint league leaders Heart of Lions and Bibiani Goldstars, who both sit on 27 points.

Meanwhile, Dreams FC finds themselves in a precarious position, languishing in 17th place with only 12 points from 14 games. With the season nearing its halfway point, they face an uphill battle to climb out of the relegation zone.

Kotoko will now look to maintain their winning streak as they eye a push towards the summit of the league table, while Dreams FC must regroup quickly to salvage their season.
