Ghana has been placed in Group A for the upcoming U-20 Africa Cup of Nations WAFU B Qualifiers set for next month.

The draw was done on Thursday, September 26, in Cote d’Ivoire, with the Black Satellites aiming for a spot in the 2025 U-20 AFCON.

Desmond Ofei’s team will compete in Group A alongside Benin, Niger, and Togo.

Group B comprises Nigeria, Cote d’Ivoire, and Burkina Faso.

Ghana hasn’t participated in the competition since winning it in 2021 under Karim Zito. The team missed the last edition, which Senegal claimed in 2023.

The four-time champions aim to return to the continental stage, with the competition doubling as qualifiers for the 2025 FIFA U-20 Men’s World Cup.

Earlier this year, the Black Satellites won gold by defeating Uganda at the 2023 African Games in Ghana.

The qualifiers will take place in Togo from October 17 to 31, 2024.
