The Goldfields Damang Golf Course in the Western Region is hosting the 2025 PGA Ghana Open from November 11-14, featuring a strong international field of seventy two elite golfers.

The competitors include forty five regular professionals, fourteen seniors, and thirteen ladies from across Africa, representing Ghana, Nigeria, Togo, Cote d’Ivoire, Senegal, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.

Damang Club Captain Peter Damuah expressed his hopes for a successful tournament but highlighted concerns over the low number of female participants, encouraging more women and girls to pursue golf as a viable career.

PGA Ghana Vice President, Alhaji Ahmed Padori, commended the players’ dedication and thanked headline sponsor Goldfields Ghana for their continued support, particularly their investment in female golfers. He noted that this season marks the PGA’s fiftieth anniversary.

This year’s event boasts a winner’s prize of GH¢60,000, and was officially opened by Sampson Arthur, Operations Manager of Abosso Golf Club. Tournament Director Eric Henaku praised the high level of foreign participation, stating it elevates the competition.

Engineers and Planners are among the event’s sponsors.
