Paintsil on Target but Galaxy Fall to Messi’s Inter Miami

Ghanaian forward Joseph Paintsil found the back of the net for LA Galaxy, but it wasn’t enough to prevent a 3-1 defeat to Inter Miami in Major League Soccer on Saturday night.

Paintsil, who has been one of the bright sparks for Galaxy this season, struck his fifth MLS goal in the 59th minute, latching onto a through ball to level the game after Jordi Alba had given Miami a first-half lead.

However, the Galaxy’s hopes of taking something from the match were dashed late on as Miami’s star duo, Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez, scored in the 84th and 89th minutes respectively to seal all three points for the home side.

The defeat leaves LA Galaxy rooted to the bottom of the Western Conference table, while Inter Miami climb to fifth place in the Eastern Conference, continuing their push for the playoffs.

Despite the setback, Paintsil’s form remains a silver lining for the Galaxy, with fans hopeful his consistency in front of goal can spark a turnaround in the coming weeks.
