Asante Kotoko head coach Eric Tinkler has reaffirmed his side’s ambition to challenge for the league title this season, ahead of Sunday’s clash against Aduana Stars at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Speaking ahead of the fixture, Tinkler said the Porcupine Warriors remain focused on climbing to the summit of the table, with a maximum haul of three points the target against their visitors.
As I said before, our objective is to compete this season in the league,” Tinkler stated. “We want to see ourselves at the top of the table, possibly getting three points against them. And that’s got to be the target, that’s the objective.”
The former South Africa international coach was keen to stress that his attention remains solely on his own team’s output, rather than the form or standing of their opponents.
I don’t worry about others, I worry about us and the performance that we put on,” he added.
Kotoko will be looking to build on their positional ambitions when they host Aduana Stars in what promises to be a keenly contested fixture at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
