West Africa Para-Para Games: Team Ghana Secure Eight Medals on Day Three
Team Ghana has delivered a commendable performance on day three of the inaugural West Africa Zone A and B Para Games in Abeokuta, Nigeria, securing a total of eight medals.
The medal count was bolstered by strong showings across multiple disciplines. In para powerlifting, Isaac Obeng claimed a silver medal in the 59kg category, while Tahiru Haruna and Daniel Kankam added bronze medals in the 72kg–107kg and 65kg category, respectively.
The success extended to the shooting range, where Isaac Adopleh earned two podium finishes, securing a silver and a bronze medal across pistol and rifle events.

Further medals were contributed by the para badminton team. Akosua Nkansah won bronze in the Wheelchair 1 Women’s Singles, Hayford Kwame Adasi took bronze in the Wheelchair 1 Men’s Singles, and Atta Owusu earned bronze in the Standing Upper 5 category.
With these results, Ghana’s provisional medal tally stands at eight. The team anticipates further medal opportunities as the Games progresses
The games resumes today with events in Armwrestling and Sitting Volleyball. The West Africa Para Games will conclude on December 4.
