The Ghana Wrestling Federation (GWF) has announced the successful conclusion of its participation in the West African Wrestling Championships for Seniors and Juniors, held in Ouidah, Benin from November 29 to 30, 2025. The national team delivered an impressive performance, securing multiple medals and a team trophy.

The Ghanaian contingent excelled in competitive categories, with heavyweight athlete Fuseini Issah achieving a standout double victory. Issah secured the gold medal in the Freestyle Wrestling category and added a bronze medal in the Beach Wrestling discipline.

Collectively, Team Ghana’s efforts were recognized with a third place finish in the Freestyle Wrestling team rankings, earning the delegation an official third place trophy.

The national team was represented by three athletes across weight Categories.
Alberta Tetteh (50kg), Princess Setordzi (53kg), and Fuseini Issah (125kg).
Their training and competition strategy were guided by coach Henry Hadaba and Twumasi Addo.
The delegation was officially led by Mr. Norbert Amefu, President of the Ghana Wrestling Federation, who oversaw the team’s participation in the regional championship.
