Borussia Dortmund is expanding its global commitment to youth football by establishing its first official International Academy on the African continent. The club has chosen Ghana as the location for this exciting new project.

The BVB International Academy Ghana is set to open its doors in February 2026. This academy will bring the club’s renowned youth development model directly to young athletes in West Africa.

The academy will offer structured football programs for both boys and girls, welcoming young players from 6 to 18 years old. It aims to cater to a wide range of aspirations by providing pathways for young footballers to succeed.

All training will be delivered under the direct guidance and philosophy of Borussia Dortmund’s global academy system. This ensures that the coaching, values, and methodology that have defined the club’s success in Germany will form the core of the Ghanaian project.

This initiative represents a step in Borussia Dortmund’s international outreach. The club views it not only as a chance to share its football knowledge but also as an opportunity to foster talent, promote the sport, and create lasting connections within the vibrant football community of Ghana.

The launch of the BVB International Academy Ghana marks a new chapter for the club’s presence in Africa, with a clear focus on nurturing the next generation of footballers.
