Performance of Ghanaian Players Abroad
Most Ghanaian players across Europe were in action over the weekend, delivering a mix of solid individual performances, decisive goals, and hard-fought battles for their respective clubs. From England to Turkey, Belgium and beyond, here is a country-by-country breakdown of how some selected players fared abroad.
England
It was a busy weekend for Ghanaian players in English football, particularly in the Championship.

At the Coventry Building Society Arena, Fatawu Issahaku made his 27th consecutive league start for Leicester City, continuing his remarkable run of consistency. Despite Leicester’s 2-1 defeat to Coventry City, the winger was lively throughout, registering two shots, both on target, and completing one of four dribbles.
Jordan Ayew also featured for Leicester City, playing 70 minutes in the same encounter as the Foxes fell to a narrow defeat.
On the winning side, Brandon Thomas-Asante marked his return from injury for Coventry City, coming on for the final eight minutes to help preserve their 2-1 victory.

In the Premier League, Antoine Semenyo made his third consecutive start and his first league start in the Manchester derby. The forward played the full 90 minutes, but Manchester City were beaten 2-0 by rivals Manchester United.
Elsewhere, Jojo Wollacott was named on the bench for Crawley Town but remained an unused substitute.
Turkey

Ghanaian defenders were particularly prominent in Turkey.
Nicholas Opoku continued his ever-present run for Kasimpasa, making his 18th consecutive start in their clash against Antalyaspor. He put in a solid defensive display, recording three clearances and three interceptions, while winning all his ground duels and half of his aerial battles.
For Istanbul Basaksehir, Jerome Opoku played the full 90 minutes as his side secured a 2-1 win over Karagumruk. He contributed defensively with a clearance and an interception.

In the Turkish second division, Felix Afena-Gyan made his third consecutive start for Amedspor. Although his side suffered a 2-0 defeat to Erzurumspor, Afena-Gyan impressed defensively, completing all four of his tackle attempts before being substituted after 73 minutes.
Belgium
It was a standout weekend in Belgium for Ghanaian attackers.
Jerry Afriyie delivered a decisive performance for RAAL La Louvière, playing the full match and scoring his third league goal in a thrilling 3-2 win over Club Brugge.
At league leaders Union Saint-Gilloise, Mohammed Fuseini came off the bench to play 21 minutes as his side edged KV Mechelen 1-0 to maintain their position at the summit of the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.

Kwasi Sibo featured for Real Oviedo, making his fourth consecutive start. He played 71 minutes in a dramatic 3-2 defeat to Osasuna, recording one interception and two clearances.
Inaki Williams started on the bench for Athletic Bilbao but was introduced in the 60th minute. However, Bilbao fell 3-2 to Mallorca in La Liga.

At Metz, Terry Yegbe also played the entire game but could not prevent a 2-1 defeat to RC Strasbourg. He finished the match with one interception and five clearances.
Italy
In Serie A, Kamaldeen Sulemana was introduced late for Atalanta, coming on for the final 10 minutes. However, the Ghanaian winger could not influence proceedings as Pisa held Atalanta to a 1-1 draw.
