With great pride, the Black Muscles Ghana’s national bodybuilding team, today paid a courtesy visit to the office of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) to officially present the medals and IFBB Pro Cards earned at the recently ended IFBB Mr. Equinox International in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

Thirteen athletes represented Ghana at the championship, returning with an impressive haul of laurels and professional milestones that have firmly placed the country at the pinnacle of African bodybuilding:

• Three (3) IFBB Pro Cards granting the athletes global professional status

• Four (4) Gold Medals

• One (1) Silver Medal

• Five (5) Bronze Medals

The team was received by the President and General Secretary of the GOC. GOC President, Mr. Richard Akpokavie, Esq., encouraged the team to continue putting in the work and to win Ghana even more laurels when the nation hosts the rest of Africa at the IFBB West African Championship in April.

The GOC General Secretary, Mr. Mohammed Muniru, also advised the athletes to remain disciplined and to heed the guidance of their leadership.

The President of the Ghana Bodybuilding and Fitness Association, Mr. Abdul Hayye Yartey, who led the delegation, used the occasion to appeal to the GOC President for financial support as Ghana prepares to host the rest of the continent on 24th April at the National Theatre.
