AshantiGold Sporting Club has announced the appointment of experienced trainer Abdul Karim Zito as the club’s new head coach.

The move brings the seasoned tactician to the Obuasi-based side as they look to build a stronger squad for the future.

Coach Zito joins AshantiGold following successful stints at some of the country’s top clubs. He is well known for his time at Kumasi Asante Kotoko, where he left a mark by winning the MTN FA Cup. His trophy record with the Porcupine Warriors also includes victories in the President Cup, Toyota Cup, and the Champion of Champions trophy.

During his time in charge of Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League, Zito managed the team in 27 matches. His record shows 12 wins, 10 draws, and just 5 losses, highlighting his ability to keep the team competitive.

Beyond his domestic success, Zito also showed his quality on the continental stage. He guided Dreams FC to the group stages of the prestigious CAF Confederation Cup. This achievement proved his capability to prepare a team to compete against strong opposition from across Africa.

The AshantiGold management believes Zito is the right person to lead the team forward. They have expressed confidence that his deep understanding of the game, leadership skills, and years of experience will help lift the club’s standing in Ghanaian football.

With Zito at the helm, the club aims to strengthen its squad and challenge for top honours in the Ghana Premier League once again. His appointment signals a fresh start and a determined push for success in the upcoming season.
