The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially confirmed the schedule for four international friendly matches for the Black Stars. These games are a key part of the team’s final preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ghana is set to appear in the world’s biggest football tournament for the fifth time. The competition will be held later this year across three North American nations: the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

First Tests Against European Powerhouses

The team’s preparation period will begin at the end of March. On Friday, March 27, the Black Stars will travel to Austria for a match at the famous Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna. Kickoff for that game is set for 5:00PM local time.

Just three days later, the team faces a tough test against one of the tournament favorites. They will take on Germany at the MHP Arena in Stuttgart. This match gives the Ghanaian squad a chance to measure themselves against a team with a deep history of success on the world stage.

Summer Schedule and Final Tune-Up

The preparation continues in May. Head coach Otto Addo will lead the team in another international friendly against Mexico.

The final warm-up game before the World Cup begins is set for June 2. On that day, the Black Stars will face Wales at Cardiff City Stadium.

Aiming to Improve

The team enters this World Cup with a clear goal of advancing further than in recent years.

In both the 2014 tournament in Brazil and the 2022 edition in Qatar, Ghana was unable to move past the first round of games.

World Cup Group Stage Path

The four-time African champions will compete in Group L. Their group stage opponents are Panama, England, and Croatia.

The schedule for the group stage is as follows:

June 17: Ghana vs. Panama

June 23: Ghana vs. England

June 27: Ghana vs. Croatia

These upcoming friendlies will be crucial for Coach Otto Addo and his players as they build team chemistry and test their tactics against strong international opponents before the games that matter most.
