GFA President Sets Ambitious Target: Ghana to Qualify for Every World Cup
Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Okraku, has outlined an ambitious vision for the Black Stars, declaring that the ultimate goal is to qualify for every World Cup.
Speaking at the GFA’s Meet The Press event in Sunyani, Okraku emphasized the importance of consistent qualification for the global showpiece. “It’s my ultimate administration’s goal to get Ghana to qualify for every World Cup,” he stated.
The president’s declaration comes as the GFA continues to work towards improving the overall standard of Ghanaian football. The introduction of VAR, as previously announced, is one step in this direction.
Ghana has participated in four World Cup finals, first in 2006 in Germany and subsequent back to back appearances in South Africa 2010 and in Brazil 2014.
Having missed in 2018 in Russia, Ghana bounced back to the Mundial in Qatar 2022 under Kurt Okraku’s tenure, where they bowed out in the group stages.
Now with this ambitious target, the GFA is signaling its intent to elevate the Black Stars to a consistently competitive level on the global stage.
