The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has charged Sammy Anim Addo, President of Young Apostles, over his social media comments criticizing officiating in the Ghana Premier League.
The former Executive Council member accused referee Maxwell Hanson of being the GFA’s “man for dirty works” following complaints from Accra Lions regarding Hanson’s officiating during their 1-0 defeat to Dreams FC.
Anim Addo also alleged that the GFA had threatened to relegate his team, Young Apostles, after he voiced concerns about officiating standards in the league.
According to a statement from the GFA’s Disciplinary Committee, Anim Addo’s remarks on X (formerly Twitter) constitute misconduct and have tarnished the reputation of the league.
He has been given until Monday, January 13, 2024, to officially respond to the charges.
