Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Nerteh Ogum, has called on the club’s supporters to show up in large numbers at the stadium to cheer the team as they push for the Ghana Premier League title.
Speaking after Kotoko’s recent victory over Berekum Chelsea, Ogum expressed concern over the low attendance at league matches, emphasizing that the team’s impressive form should serve as motivation for fans to come and support them.
We are winning, and that should encourage our supporters to come to the stadium and cheer the team on, Ogum said. The presence of our fans gives the players an extra boost and confidence to perform even better.
The issue of declining attendance has been a major concern across the Ghana Premier League, with many clubs struggling to attract large crowds to their home games. Ogum hopes that Kotoko fans will reverse this trend and rally behind the team in their bid for the league title.
With Kotoko now leading the league table with 45 points, the coach believes the supporters’ energy in the stands could play a crucial role in maintaining their momentum.
