Former Black Stars goalkeeper Richard Kingston has reached an agreement with Hearts of Oak to become the club’s new goalkeepers coach, with all terms of the deal now finalised, the club has confirmed.
The appointment marks a return to Ghana football for the former national team shot-stopper, who previously served as the Black Stars’ goalkeepers coach following the end of his playing career.
Popularly known by his nickname “Olele,” Kingston is expected to strengthen Hearts of Oak’s technical team as the club intensifies preparations for the upcoming 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
Kingston enjoyed an illustrious career with the Black Stars, representing Ghana at multiple Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and two FIFA World Cups. Since retiring from playing, he has remained active in coaching, earning recognition for his work developing goalkeepers at the highest level, including a spell as goalkeepers trainer for the senior national team.

With his blend of top-level playing experience and coaching pedigree, Kingston’s addition is seen as a significant boost to the Phobians’ backroom staff heading into the season.
