Stade Rennais FC defender Alidu Seidu entered an exclusive club of Ghanaian players this past Saturday, marking his 100th appearance in France’s top division.

This feat was reached during Stade Rennais’ match against Lens.

By playing in the fixture, Seidu became only the ninth footballer from Ghana to make a century of Ligue 1 appearances.

The versatile defender joined Rennes from Clermont Foot in January 2024, signing a four-year contract with the club. His move made him the sixth Ghanaian international to play for the French side.

Seidu developed his skills over several seasons at Clermont Foot, growing into a reliable and promising talent in defense.

His consistent performances in Ligue 1 earned him the transfer to Rennes in 2024.

At the international level, Seidu has proudly represented Ghana across various youth national teams, showcasing his talent on multiple stages.

This achievement of 100 games is a remarkable moment in Seidu’s career. It highlights his steady presence and solid contributions in one of Europe’s major leagues, paving the way for the next chapter with Stade Rennais.
