Aduana Sack Yaw Acheampong as Head Coach After Poor Start to Season

Aduana Stars have parted ways with head coach, Yaw Acheampong following a series of disappointing results in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.

The club confirmed the decision via an announcement on their official X (formerly Twitter) page.

Assistant coach Paul Tandon has been appointed as interim manager while the club searches for a permanent replacement.

Acheampong joined Aduana FC at the start of the 2023/2024 season and initially made a positive impression by leading the team to a respectable fifth-place finish in his debut campaign.

However, his second season at the helm has been marked by inconsistency and underperformance.

After 12 matches this season, Aduana Stars have recorded just two wins, six draws, and four losses, leaving them in a precarious position on the league table.

This poor run of form has drawn criticism from fans and stakeholders alike, culminating in the decision to terminate Acheampong’s contract.

Paul Tandon, the club’s assistant coach, will step into the managerial role temporarily. Tandon faces the immediate challenge of rejuvenating a team that has struggled to find its rhythm this season. His short-term mandate will likely focus on improving results while the club works to secure a long-term solution.

In their announcement, Aduana FC thanked Acheampong for his contributions to the team during his tenure but emphasized the need for change to revive the club’s fortunes in the league.

The dismissal marks a significant turning point for Aduana FC as they aim to reverse their fortunes and climb the league standings. Fans and analysts will be watching closely to see if the change in leadership can provide the much-needed spark for the team.

With more than half of the season still to play, there is hope that Aduana FC can recover and compete for a strong finish under new management.
