Former Black Stars captains Asamoah Gyan and Stephen Appiah, who also serves as the Vice Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, have joined the team’s contingent for their crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier against Madagascar.

The squad has already arrived in Morocco ahead of the highly anticipated clash on Monday. They departed Accra on Saturday at 10:30 GMT and arrived at Acharif Al Idrissi Airport in Al Hoceima at 16:16 GMT.

All 23 players made the journey in good condition as Ghana prepares for the decisive Group I encounter on March 24, 2025. The team carries strong momentum following a dominant victory over Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday night.

Leading the delegation were Black Stars Management Committee Chairman Dr. Randy Abbey and Vice Chairman Stephen Appiah, with legendary forward Asamoah Gyan also accompanying the squad.

A win on Monday would be crucial for Coach Otto Addo’s side, strengthening their chances of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Meanwhile, Madagascar, just two points behind Ghana in the Group I standings, will also be eager to claim victory and reclaim the top spot.
