The 2025 Iron Forge National Championship, organized by the Functional Sports League Ghana, concluded successfully on December 21st. The event was held over two days, at the Karikari Brobbey Astroturf in Dansoman.

Nine of the top athletes, who qualified through regional tournaments, competed in six challenging physical tests:

Test 1: Bodyweight – 4 rounds for time of broad jumps, V-Ups, and Reverse Lunges.

Test 2: Skills – As many rounds as possible in 5 minutes of Alternating Pistols, Box Step-Ups, and Kettlebell exercises.

Test 3: Power – A race against the clock featuring Kettlebell swings and devil press.

Test 4: Strength – As many repetitions as possible in 4 minutes of Strict Press, Deadlifts, and Thrusters.

Test 5: Endurance – 4 rounds for time of Burpees, shuttle runs, and jump rope (singles unders).

Test 6: Mixed – A timed final test of Sled push, Sandbag carry, and sandbag squats.

Final Standings and Prizes

Awal Mohammed from the Greater Accra Region defended his championship title, earning the top score of 560 points.

3. Isaac Asante (Ashanti Region) – 450 points

The winners received prizes courtesy of event sponsors Electroland Ghana (official dealers for TCL, Nasco, Midea, and Samsung appliances) and Sorry Mosquito Spray.

Champion, Awal Mohammed: A 43-inch Nasco TV, a Gas Cooker, Sorry Mosquito Spray, two trophies, a gold medal, and a certificate.

Runner-up, Isaac Awusi: A 40-inch Nasco TV, a Microwave, a Standing Fan, Sorry Mosquito Spray, a trophy, a medal, and a certificate.

Second Runner-up, Isaac Asante: A 32-inch Nasco TV, a Steam Iron, Sorry Mosquito Spray, a trophy, a medal, and a certificate.

All other participating athletes each received a Blender, a Kettle, and Sorry Mosquito Spray.
