Baba Adamu declares Heart’s readiness for Apostles showdown

Hearts of Oak defender, Baba Adamu, has expressed the team’s readiness ahead of their weekend Ghana Premier League clash against Young Apostles at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Adamu has been impressive for the Phobians since joining at the start of the season, featuring in multiple roles across the back line, including centre-back and left-back.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, the defender stressed the importance of staying prepared for every match, not just the upcoming fixture against Young Apostles.

“We’re always prepared. We have always been ready for every game, and we’re well prepared towards that game (Young Apostles). We’re giving our best for that match,” he said.

He also urged fans to continue playing their role as the team’s 12th man, highlighting their importance to the squad.

“I think they (fans) play a very important role in the team because without them it will be more difficult. I urge the fans to continue supporting the team, and I hope that all will be well,” he added.

The match carries added significance for the Phobians, who are without a win in their last six games and have recorded consecutive draws in their last five home matches, four of which have been goalless draws.

A victory on Sunday could see Hearts of Oak, currently 4th on the table, close the gap on league leaders Medeama SC, as they trail by six points in the race for a 22nd Ghana Premier League title.
