The Ghana Black Stars have chosen Bryant University in Rhode Island as their official home base for the duration of the 2026 FIFA World Cup

The West African country will utilize the university’s campus and athletic facilities to prepare for the tournament, which is being co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Bryant University was selected as a team base camp following a detailed review process, which included rigorous inspections by FIFA officials.

The university’s athletic complex brings a strong history with top-level sports, having served as the training camp home for the New England Patriots for two decades. Its inclusion in the tournament’s official Base Camp Brochure solidifies its status as a world-class preparation site.

For the Ghana Football Association, the location offers a strategic mix of seclusion and accessibility. The quiet campus environment is expected to provide a focused atmosphere for the team to train and rest between matches, while its position in the Northeast gives the Black Stars a logistical advantage for their group-stage fixtures.

Match Schedule and Travel Distances

Ghana will compete in Group L. From their base in Rhode Island, the team will face a travel schedule that includes trips to Canada and two other major U.S. cities:

vs. Panama – June 17 in Toronto, Canada. (Bryant University to Toronto: approximately 564 miles / 8-hour drive).

vs. England – June 23 at Boston Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. (Bryant University to Foxborough: approximately 69 miles / 1-hour drive).

vs. Croatia – June 27 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. (Bryant University to Philadelphia: approximately 359 miles / 4-hour drive).

The close proximity to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough for their second match is a notable benefit, allowing the team to avoid long-distance travel before facing England. While the trip to Toronto requires a significant journey, the centralized New England location provides a consistent home base throughout the first round of the tournament.
