The Ghanaian contingent for the first-ever West Africa Para Games, Zone A and B departed yesterday, Wednesday, 26th November 2025, for Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. The delegation’s departure precedes the official Opening Ceremony scheduled for Friday, 28th November, with the Games concluding on 3rd December 2025. This timing aligns with the worldwide observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, underscoring the event’s significance in promoting inclusivity and sporting excellence.

The National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Ghana has confirmed the nation’s full delegation, which will proudly represent the country across ten Para sports disciplines. The team comprises a dedicated cohort of athletes, coaches, medical staff, media personnel, and officials.

Prior to departure, the NPC instructed all team members to report to the Secretariat presenting valid passports or national identification cards. Federations with athletes based outside the capital were specifically advised to coordinate transportation to ensure punctual assembly.

Team Ghana’s participation demonstrates a renewed and steadfast commitment to the advancement of Para sports.

This initiative is instrumental in broadening athlete development pathways and showcases Ghana’s growing competitiveness within the West African and broader continental Paralympic movement.

Upon arrival in Abeokuta, Team Ghana will undergo official accreditation, athlete classification, and final training sessions in preparation for the commencement of the Games.
