The result ensured Burkina Faso finished in second place in Group E with six points, progressing confidently to the Round of 16 .

The Stallions’ journey in the knockout stage came to an end against the defending champions and hosts’ rivals, Ivory Coast. Despite a valiant effort, Burkina Faso was unable to overcome the Ivorians, falling to a 3-0 defeat. Nevertheless, the campaign highlighted the team’s collective maturity and their status as one of the continent’s most dependable sides .

The Task Ahead

With a solid foundation already in place, Amir Abdou’s task will be to guide the Stallions through the upcoming qualification matches and prepare the team for the AFCON qualification.
