Accra Sports Stadium served as a distinguished venue for bilateral friendship today, as His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Edward, graced the UK-Ghana Sports Day as the Special Guest of Honour.
The event showcased more than twenty sporting and recreational disciplines, was marked by a spirit of enthusiastic engagement from athletes, officials, and spectators alike.

The Duke was welcomed with great honour by the Ghana Bowls Federation, under the leadership of its President, Mr. Charles Obeng Amofah. President Amofah heralded the royal visit as a momentous occasion, noting its significant contribution to the promotion and development of the sport of bowls within the country

Demonstrating a commendable familiarity with the game, His Royal Highness participated in a bowls match earning the admiration of attendees.

The occasion was further elevated by the presence of dignitaries, including the Honourable Kofi Adams, Minister for Sports and Recreation; the British High Commissioner to Ghana; and the Director General of the National Sports Authority, Mr. Yaw Ampofo Ankrah.
