USA-based former boxer Emmanuel Addo, popularly known as “Mosquito,” has announced a special boxing tournament to honor the legacy of four late, revered Ghanaian boxing coaches. The event will feature four boxers competing in four different weight categories.
The now trainer and promoter revealed that he has instituted a World Boxing Council (WBC)-designed title belt for each category in memory of the coaches:
The late Godwin Nii Dzanie Kotey (Alloway) of Attoh Quarshie Boxing Club
The late Jones Hammond of Square Deal Boxing Club
The late Emmanuel Lamptey (Akise) of Black Panthers Boxing Gym
The late Napoleon Ayaa Tagoe of Will Power Gym

The tournament will follow an elimination format, with the winners being rewarded after the losers are eliminated. The bouts will be held at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
In a significant show of support, the Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, has been named the special guest of the commemorative titles.
