Toulouse FC, French ligue 1 side has confirmed that Ghanaian midfielder Francis Abu will miss out on the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be held in USA, Canada and Mexico following his broken leg .

Ghana was struck with sad news on Friday 14 November 2025 when the 24 year old suffered a broken leg during the 2025 Kirin Cup tournament at Japan when this incident happened during the 2nd half of the game .

His team in France revealed that he will be sidelined for several months to receive treatment and might take long to recover to participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Toulouse FC added “The entire club wishes you a speedy recovery,Abu. Stay strong and come back to us soon; we’re all with you during this difficult time”

The midfielder has been made to return to France from the Ghana team camping in Asia for medical treatment.

The Black Stars of Ghana will end their Asia tour after they face South Korea on Tuesday 18th November,2025 .
