Two of Ghana’s popular boxers, Seth Gyimah and Jonathan Tetteh, will face different opponents on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Laboma Beach in La, Accra.

The event, dubbed “The Resurrection” Fight Night, is being organised by RBS Promotions in collaboration with Box Office Sports to celebrate the Easter festivities.

According to Alex Ntiamoah Boakye, the event follows the successful test of beach-front boxing previously organised by RBS Promotions. He said the upcoming edition will be held on a bigger scale and will feature some of the best boxers from Ghana and beyond.

The night will see Freezy MacBones face Nigeria’s Jamiu Animashaun in what is expected to be an exciting contest.

Meanwhile, WBA Pan Africa Champion Jonathan “Worldwide” Tetteh will take on Aziz Quartey.

Another notable bout will involve Alfred Lamptey, who was earlier scheduled to fight Samuel Takyi. Lamptey will instead take part in a warm-up fight against experienced boxer Maxwell Awuku.

Alex Ntiamoah Boakye noted that the event will renew the friendly rivalry between Ghana and Nigeria in the ring, while also highlighting the playful debate over which country has the best Jollof rice.

He added that RBS Promotions and Box Office Sports are working to promote boxing in a dynamic way across the country. During the same week, other boxing events are expected to take place in Kwahu and Keta.

Mr. Boakye said these activities are part of efforts to promote boxing tourism in Ghana and appealed to corporate organisations to support the growth of the sport.
