Futsal: Team Ghana depart for Zambia ahead of Futsal AFCON qualifier return leg

Ghana’s national futsal team has left for Lusaka as attention shifts firmly to the decisive second leg of their 2026 CAF Futsal Africa Cup of Nations qualifying tie against Zambia.

The delegation left Accra with the tie finely poised following an explosive first-leg encounter that produced a dozen goals and ended all square (6-6).

That pulsating contest in Cape Coast underlined the attacking threat of both sides, while also ensuring that the return fixture will be settled on the margins.

With no advantage gained from the opening match, Sunday’s clash in Lusaka is effectively a winner-takes-all affair.

Ghana know that a disciplined display, coupled with the attacking fluency shown at home, will be required to silence a Zambian side expected to feed off home support.

The technical team has scheduled light training sessions upon arrival to help the players acclimatise, with tactical adjustments expected ahead of the high-stakes encounter.

After an unforgettable first chapter, all signs point to another gripping contest as both nations push for a coveted spot at the 2026 CAF Futsal Africa Cup of Nations.
