GFA Confirms Departure of Black Queens Head Coach Nora Hauptle
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially announced the end of its contract with Nora Hauptle, the former Head Coach of the Black Queens, Ghana’s senior national female football team.
In a statement, the GFA expressed its gratitude to Hauptle for her dedicated service to the Black Queens and her contributions to women’s football in Ghana during her two-year tenure.
“Her salary and accommodation were solely handled by the GFA throughout her time with the team,” the statement noted.
Discussions about renewing Hauptle’s contract began in June 2024, ahead of its expiration on December 31, 2024. The GFA reportedly presented her with an improved salary and working conditions, aiming to extend her stay. However, the two parties could not reach an agreement on the renewal terms.
Hauptle’s tenure saw notable efforts to improve the fortunes of the Black Queens on the international stage, earning her respect among the footballing community in Ghana.
The GFA assured fans that a new head coach would be appointed soon to continue the development of women’s football in the country.
The departure of Nora Hauptle marks the end of an era for the Black Queens, as the team looks forward to fresh leadership to build on the foundation laid by the Swiss tactician.
