The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams held a productive meeting with a delegation from Ukraine led by His Excellency Ivan Lukachuk, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Ghana.
The delegation also included Mr. Andrii Zasakha, President of a Ukrainian Premier League club, and a group of investors.
The discussion was a step toward strengthening the bond between the two countries through sports.

The central focus of the engagement was the potential to establish a football academy in Ghana. This project is seen as a key part of a wider effort to boost sports cooperation.
The proposed academy would bring together Ghana’s global reputation for discovering exceptional grassroots talent with Ukraine’s established expertise in structured football development and professional club management. Both sides agreed that this combination creates a strong foundation for a meaningful and successful partnership.
During the meeting, the conversation highlighted the unique power of sport. It serves not just as a game, but as a bridge between countries. It can build resilience in young people, encourage cultural exchange, and create opportunities for the next generation.
The Minister expressed encouragement at the delegation’s genuine interest in contributing to Ghana’s football ecosystem.

The meeting ended on a note of mutual optimism. Both Ghana and Ukraine look forward to nurturing this relationship, confident that working together in football will bring lasting benefits for both nations. Football, once again, proves it has the power to unite people beyond borders.
