The Ghana Badminton Association (GBA) has reaffirmed its commitment to growing the sport nationwide, ensuring its accessibility not only in urban centers but also in rural communities.

Speaking after the conclusion of the 2025 Shuttle Time Coaching Course, GBA President Evans Yeboah expressed excitement about the association’s deepening engagement with clubs and stakeholders, a key strategy in expanding the sport’s reach.

We have been very excited about club engagements because that is how we connect with our stakeholders, Yeboah stated. Our goal is to deliver badminton across the entire country, ensuring it thrives not just in urban areas but in rural communities as well.

The Shuttle Time initiative has been instrumental in equipping teachers, coaches, and community leaders with the skills to introduce and sustain badminton programs at the grassroots level. The 2025 edition trained 600 participants from various regions, strengthening the foundation for future talent development.

GBA’s ongoing expansion efforts align with its broader strategic plan, aiming to increase participation, nurture young athletes, and elevate Ghana’s presence in international badminton.
