Ghana Premier League: Medeama Tighten Grip at the Top as Bechem Sink Gold Stars

Medeama SC strengthened their hold on the Premier League summit with a commanding 3–0 victory over Young Apostles at the TnA Stadium, extending their lead in the title race with another assured performance.

The Mauve and Yellows were in control from the outset and took a deserved lead through Fuzy Taylor, who finished clinically to set the tone for the afternoon.

Medeama continued to press and were rewarded again when Kamaradini Mamudu doubled the advantage, leaving the visitors chasing shadows.

Substitute Prince Owusu put the result beyond doubt late on, rounding off a dominant display that underlined Medeama’s championship credentials.

The win opens up a healthy gap at the top as Medeama continue their pursuit of a second Premier League crown.

Young Apostles, meanwhile, remain 14th on the table and will be concerned by their ongoing struggles, particularly away from home.

At the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, Bechem United delivered a major blow to Bibiani Gold Stars’ title ambitions with a narrow but vital 1–0 victory that also boosted their own survival hopes.

Veteran forward Augustine Okrah proved the difference, netting the decisive goal in the first half to hand the Hunters all three points in a tense encounter.

Bechem defended resolutely thereafter to protect their lead, frustrating the defending champions and seeing out a hard-earned win.

The result lifts Bechem United further clear of the relegation zone, easing pressure as the season progresses.

For Gold Stars, the defeat was a costly setback, seeing them lose more grounds as Medeama opened up a five-point at the summit of the Premier League standings.
