The Ghana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) has moved to support the growth of rugby across the country by sharing equipment with its regional bodies. This follows a donation of 200 rugby balls from World Rugby, the global governing body for the sport, to the GRFU.
As part of this effort, the Central Region Rugby Association has become one of the first regional groups to receive a share of these balls. The handover was made by the President of the GRFU, Madam Rafatu Inusah, to Mr. Clement Dennis, President of the Central Region Rugby Association.
This distribution is a core part of the GRFU’s plan to develop rugby from the grassroot. The balls will be used for training, matches, and other rugby programs in the regions. This will give more players, especially young people, the tools they need to learn the game, improve their skills, and enjoy the sport.
The GRFU’s action shows its focus on making sure the support from World Rugby reaches all parts of Ghana. By giving the regional federations this essential equipment, the GRFU is helping them lead the growth of rugby in their own areas.

The Central Region Rugby Association thanked both the GRFU and World Rugby for the donation. They stated they are eager to put the balls to good use to help rugby grow in their region. This move is seen as an important moment for the future of rugby in Ghana, one that will help the sport thrive for years to come.
