The Ghana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) will launch the 2026 Sheroes Tournament on February 7, 2026. The event, also called the “Ladies Can Loop Championship,” will be held at the D G Hathiramani Hall at the Accra Sports Stadium.

This tournament is more than just a competition. It is a clear step forward in supporting and developing women’s table tennis in Ghana. It comes at an important time, as Ghana’s women’s national team has qualified for the World Team Championships in London this April.

With the final team selections still pending, the Sheroes Tournament will serve as a major national gathering for the country’s top female players. It will provide a strong platform for athletes to compete at a high level. At the same time, it will allow the national technical team to observe players in a formal setting and make final selection decisions for the World Championships.

The need for strong preparation is clear. At the World Championships in London, Ghana will face tough opponents from around the globe, including teams like Puerto Rico, Austria, and Angola in their group.

Beyond the competition, the Sheroes Tournament is about visibility and building a lasting future for women in the sport. As the first major table tennis event of the year, it aims to inspire female players nationwide to train harder and aim for a spot on the national team.

It is also a call for support from parents, schools, and sports stakeholders to encourage the next generation of female athletes.
