The Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF) Wheelchair Tennis Team has departed for Rabat, Morocco, to participate in the 2026 ITF BNP Paribas World Team Cup Africa Qualifiers. The tournament is scheduled to take place from March 30 to April 3, 2026, at Club Wifaq Tennis.
Ghana will be represented in the men’s division by experienced wheelchair tennis player Bernard Yawson and promising junior Emmanuel Amosogo Amobire. The team is being led by Coach Daniel Kwakye, popularly known as Okoro, alongside team official Godfred Ansong, representing Ghana Wheelchair Tennis.
The team heads into the competition with confidence following an impressive showing in the previous edition, where Ghana secured a bronze medal. With preparations completed, the players and technical team are optimistic about improving on last year’s performance and achieving greater success on the African stage.
The delegation has expressed profound appreciation to Charity Gbedawo for her continued support, as well as to the National Coordinator of Ghana Wheelchair Tennis, Henry Larbi, GTF President Isaac Abe Duah, for their timely assistance in facilitating the trip.
The GTF and Ghana Wheelchair Tennis reaffirm their commitment to the growth and development of wheelchair tennis in the country, emphasizing the importance of creating opportunities for athletes with disabilities to compete at the highest levels of international sport.
