Hearts of Oak head coach, Mas‑Ud Didi Dramani, has confirmed that five players from his team will miss Sunday’s Ghana Premier League encounter against Basake Holy Stars due to injuries.

The Phobians are preparing for the crucial league fixture but will have to cope without several key players. Those ruled out include Rocky Dwamena, Mohammed Hussein, Prince Kwabena Owusu, Abdul Karim and Abdul Aziz.

Providing an update on their conditions, Dramani explained that each player is currently undergoing recovery from different injuries.

“Rocky Dwamena is still recovering from his ACL injury and recuperating very well. Hussein is down with a toe sore and Prince Kwabena Owusu is still not back on the pitch. Abdul Karim is still nursing an ankle injury and so is Abdul Aziz who is also nursing an injury on his ankle,” Dramani said.

Despite the absence of the five players, Accra Hearts of Oak are expected to rely on the depth within their squad as they aim to secure maximum points against Basake Holy Stars.

Holy Stars have proven to be a difficult side to beat in recent games although their away form has been poor in recent weeks. The club has failed to win any of their last five matches on the road, recording four defeats and one draw.

With home advantage on their side, the Phobians will be hoping their available attacking options can deliver the firepower needed to overcome the resilient visitors and strengthen their position in the Ghana Premier League standings as they chase the leading pack.
